I’ll go to Finland, to show Mobilized at a larp festival in August. The event is put together by Kaisa Kangas (who edited the Liminal Encounters anthology), Essi Santala and Tonja Goldblatt.
Immersion is an international chamber larp festival in Turku, Finland. We invite you all, both newcomers and experienced larpers to come play with us! Immersion features short larps (under 4-5 hours) of high quality from different countries and good company in a weeked festival atmosphere. The larps do not require any preparation beforehand, and no previous larp experience is needed for attending.
Tickets and program is out! – Join the 8–9 of August, 2025.

MOBILIZED
Mobilized is a scenario exploring the power and potential of the smart phone. The format is based on simple instructions and choices that appear on your screen through text, images and sound. The instructions shape different situations and collective movements.
“Some would say that we have already completed a forbidden experiment, using ourselves as subjects with no controls, and the unhappy findings are in: we are connected as we’ve never been before, and we seem to have damaged ourselves in the process.”
– Sherry Turkle in Alone Together
This scenario explores power, mobile use, social media, avatar bodies and collective movement. The participant’s bodies and imaginations shape a kind of choreography as their phones guide them through the constructed reality of the game. It is also an experiment of lowering the thresholds of participation by giving over some of the responsibilities at play to algorithms, chance and technology. At times it might remind you more of an anonymous chat room or a weird MMO than a role-playing game.
